Police are investigating a $100,000 equipment theft at Soldier Field

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Chicago police are investigating a burglary that occurred at Soldier Field on Wednesday evening.
The break-in into maintenance equipment was discovered Thursday morning, Luca Serra, Soldier Field’s director of marketing and public relations, told ESPN. Stolen were ride-along mowers and John Deere Gator utility vehicles that belonged to a contractor, not the stadium or the Chicago Bears.
The perpetrators tore the protective fence line from its foundation to access the equipment. The estimated value of the theft and damage is $100,000.
Chicago police said investigators are investigating the theft. According to police, no one was arrested.
